Moneyfields host Winchester City in a Wessex League premier division clash at Dover Road tonight (7.45pm).

The Copnor club have opened up a four-point lead at the top of the table but the visitors have moved menacingly up to fourth.

Striker Steve Hutchings’ fine form in front of goal continued as he notched another hat-trick in the 4-0 win at Brockenhurst at the weekend.

Moneys boss Miles Rutherford said: ‘Both teams are going well at the moment and this will be a test of character for us.

‘Our resources are being stretched to the limit by injuries but we will have to step up our game for this one.

‘Winchester probably have the biggest budget in our league and have a lot of good players.’

Elsewhere, AFC Portchester face Folland Sports at Wicor Rec.

The Royals slipped to a disappointing 2-0 home defeat against Winchester City on Saturday and boss Graham Rix wants a reaction.

‘We have to apply ourselves to get something from this game,’ he said.

The hosts are without Simon Woods and, while Jack Salter-Vaile is a doubt because of a thigh problem.

Struggling Fareham Town entertain Hampshire Premier League senior division leaders Baffins Milton Rovers in the Portsmouth Senior Cup at Cams Alders.

‘Looking at the form guide we are probably no longer the favourites,’ said Reds boss Matt Parr.

Horndean’s Hampshire Senior Cup tie against Eastleigh has been switched to the Silverlake Stadium.
