Moneyfields turned up the heat on relegation-threatened Hayling United with a 2-1 victory at a foggy Dover Road tonight.

The hosts led the Wessex League premier division clash 2-0 at half-time, thanks to a stunning strike from Russell Rackley and a Dan Gauntlett effort.

Hayling hit back through Tom Reay early in the second half but Lee Paul’s men were unable to find a leveller at the death.

Elsewhere, Horndean fought the fog to crush Petersfield 4-1 in division one with Alex Milroy netting a hat-trick after Torr Spicer had opened the scoring.

Mike Newman got a consolation for Petersfield before the game was abandoned on 75 minutes due to the fog, with the Deans netting the points.

In Ryman League division one south, Bognor eased into top spot with a 3-1 win at Chipstead.

A Michael Birmingham penalty and goals from James Crane and Jason Prior secured their eighth win in nine league games.
