'˜Nothing to fear' for Moneyfields in FA Cup tie at Hayes & Yeading

The Copnor side suffered stoppage-time heartbreak in the Hampshire Senior Cup tie against the National League side.

Carter believes it will make his team even more determined to get a result at Bostick League south central division side Hayes & Yeading in their second round qualifying tie on Saturday.

The Moneys boss said: '˜We used Tuesday night as a dress rehearsal for the FA Cup.

'˜Both opponents play 3-5-2 and a similar style.

'˜If we can reproduce our midweek performance then we will give ourselves every chance.

'˜I thought we were resilient and strong, limiting our National League opponents to few clear chances.

'˜Their two front men got very little joy against our back three.

'˜When their goal finally came their player was at least two or three yards offside.

'˜That bit of bad luck will spur us on even more.

'˜There is £9,000 up for grabs as well as a place in the next round.'

Hayes & Yeading play in the Bostik South Central League which is at the same level as Moneyfield.

The home side have started well, losing just one of their opening five league games.

That defeat was in their last game with a 1-0 reverse at fellow high-fliers Waltham Abbey.

Moneyfields have started slowly but shown good resilience away from home where they have battled to two draws.

Those games were against top sides Cirencester and Yate.

Carter added: '˜We have no reason to have any fear going to Hayes.

'˜They have a massive pitch and some experienced players in their ranks.

'˜These include ex-Hawks player Scott Donnelly so we won't be wanting to give away any free-kicks around our box.

'˜We have good experience in our side too so it should be a good cup-tie.

'˜On another day we might have nicked a win against the Hawks so we can take a lot of encouragement from that.

'˜As in all cup ties our main target is to make sure we are in the hat for the next round draw on Monday.'

George Sheath is likely to continue in midfield after impressing on his debut in midweek.

Sheath has been playing in Germany so has had to wait for international clearance.
