Petersfield and Moneyfields shared the spoils as their Wessex League premier division top-of-the-table clash ended in a hard-fought 0-0 draw at Love Lane.
League leaders Moneys went close to opening the deadlock in the first half when Jake Morgan’s free-kick was tipped onto the crossbar by home keeper Matt Shortt.
Prolific marksman Alfie Rutherford then spurned a good opportunity from a corner as the visitors set the early tempo.
But it was hosts Petersfield who should have led at the interval when unmarked defender Jamie Ford’s header struck the crossbar just before the break.
An even encounter swung one way then the other in the second period with Steve Hutchings and Jake Raine going close for Moneys.
Petersfield had a great chance to leapfrog their rivals at the top of the table late on but Andy Todd glanced a header wide from a corner as both sides settled for a share of the spoils.
Elsewhere in the division, Fareham Town’s Wessex League woes continued with a 3-0 defeat at Bemerton Heath Harlequins.
Matt Parr’s side have won just once in the league so far this season and are floundering near the bottom.
Horndean cruised through their FA Vase replay at Lymington Town with an emphatic 5-0 success to set up a trip to counterparts Winchester City.
Lewis Stockford, Mark Smith, Nathan Paxton, Gavin Spurway and Harry Potter were all on target for the rampant visitors.
