Underdogs Bognor are through to the third round of the FA Trophy after beating National League Altrincham 2-1 at Nyewood Lane.
The tie, which only went ahead after supporters’ cars were driven onto the pitch to thaw out the surface, proved to be one to remember for Jamie Howell’s side
Ryman League Rocks took the lead early on in the second half through Craig Robson’s header, only to immediately be pegged back by Alty’s James Lawrie.
But with five minutes left on the clock, James Crane was the home side’s hero firing in a long-range effort that bounced in off the post.
Bognor now face a trip to National League South outfit Sutton United in the last 16 of the competition as their march to the Wembley arch continues.
