Norris: We're not distracted by worries

The stand-in skipper believes the team’s improving results show they are keeping a level head in the face of worries about the Blues’ future.

Convers Sports Initiatives’ descent into administration has plunged Pompey into more fears over their survival.

The club is back in the hands of former owners Levi Kushnir and Balram Chainrai, who are looking to recoup the £17m they loaned Pompey.

Investment is needed to secure the Blues’ future, although finance is in place to cover costs into 2012.

There has already been plenty of interest in Pompey from potential buyers as administrator Andrew Andronikou seeks a new owner.

Andronikou’s job is to find the right people to become the Blues’ sixth owners in 29 months.

All the uncertainty behind the scenes appears to be having little impact on the players, though, with Pompey last week recording their first back-to-back wins since March.

Norris insisted it was business as usual among Michael Appleton’s squad as they gear up for Sunday’s south coast derby.

The 30-year-old vowed the players were focused purely on getting results.

He said: ‘I don’t think the off-field stuff has affected us.

‘Players get on with it, to be honest. It doesn’t affect them until it gets to crunch time.

‘They might be worried about this and that at home but at training and in games we get on with it.

‘The biggest thing we can do is get points and wins.

‘If we can do that we’ll be doing our bit.’
