Baker’s opener was a spectacular 30-yarder while Hunt also hit a piledriver from a similar distance off the post.

Cook was pleased to give supporters moments to whet the appetite ahead of the new campaign.

He said: ‘It was a thoroughly enjoyable game against one of our local teams.

‘It was a nice night and a good crowd in.

‘It was good to give the fans a few glimpses of the quality we have.

‘Carl Baker’s goal was superb and Curtis Main got the crowd on their feet.

‘But we’ve got a target for the season and I feel the squad is improving as we work towards that.’
