A player who left Liverpool for £15m for years ago could be playing in a cup semi-final at Moneyfields on Tuesday night.

Winger Jordan Ibe could be handed his second Hampshire Senior Cup start of the campaign as AFC Bournemouth under-23s travel to Dover Road.

A handful of other players with Cherries first team experience this season could also be on show as Moneys aim to reach the final for the first time in their history.

Ibe swapped Anfield for Dean Court in the summer of 2016, but this season has been left on the sidelines as Bournemouth battle for Premier League survival.

Apart from a couple of early-season sub outings - including one against reigning champions Manchester City - Ibe’s only first team football has come in two League Cup ties.

Last month he was named in the Cherries side that played Moneyfields’ divisional rivals Sholing in the HSC quarter-finals - scoring in a 4-0 victory.

Striker Jaidon Anthony (2) and midfielder Alex Dobre were also on target that night.

Anthony recently went on loan to Weymouth, but was back in Bournemouth colours last Friday as Cherries defeated Southampton 3-2 in front of over 3,700 fans at Dean Court in a Premier League U21 Cup tie.

Dobre, though, won’t play against Moneyfields as he joined Paul Cook’s Wigan Athletic on loan last week.

Midfielder Gavin Kilkenny, handed two League Cup starts by Eddie Howe this term, is likely to feature at Dover Road.

Harvey Bertrand - younger brother of Southampton and England defender Ryan - is another who could get a run-out.

He scored Cherries’ winner in the third round at Farnborough before Christmas.

Also on target in a 3-2 win at Cherrywood Road were Tyrell Hamilton and Jake Scrimshaw.

They won’t face Moneys, though, as they are both currently out on loan at Gosport Borough and Eastleigh respectively.

Former Hawks loanee defender Tyler Cordner featured against Southampton last Friday, along with striker Sam Surrridge who recently grabbed his maiden first team goal in the FA Cup loss to Arsenal.

Midfielder Kyle Taylor, who spent the first half of the season on loan at Forest Green, was also in last Friday’s starting XI - as was goalkeeper Mark Travers, who has five first team appearances this term.

They could all get another run-out at Dover Road as the club can pick who they want - technically, Cherries could field their entire Premier League 1st XI if they so wished as the HSC is a first team competition.

Keeper Will Dennis played in the previous HSC rounds, however, and is expected to keep his place as Cherries aim to reach the final for the third time in recent years.

And with Cherries having another Premier League U21 Cup tie at Stoke City this coming Friday, the likes of Cordner, Travers and Surrridge could be kept fresh for that game.

Bournemouth lost in both the 2013 and 2017 HSC finals, to Alresford and Basingstoke Town respectively. On the latter occasion, they didn’t concede a goal in the entire tournament yet still didn’t lift the silverware - losing on penalties after a 0-0 draw!

The winners of the Dover Road tie will play either Eastleigh or Southampton Under-23s in the final at Eastleigh’s Silverlake Stadium on Wednesday, March 25.
