There were huge queues at the North stand entrance to the Fratton end because many peoples’ tickets were not working.

Yes, he was immense.

Paul Cook said he wanted his big-game players to turn up and Roberts did exactly that.

He was always looking for the ball, at the heart of everything, made us tick all night and how cool was he for the penalty.

This season he has turned up in patches, some days he has gone missing, but in those situations such as last night he thrives.

What did you make of the Jamille Matt headbutt?

I didn’t see it unfortunately, I was distracted by the two benches coming together and what they were up to.

However, many I spoke to thought Matt should have gone, he put his head in and that is a straight red.

I thought the ref really struggled, he was under pressure and couldn’t cope.
