Pompey given clean bill of health

Pompey have cleared their treatment room ahead of the trip to Tranmere.

The Blues have no new injury worries as they prepare to tackle the League One leaders at Prenton Park on Saturday.

And the likes of Gabor Gyepes, Lee Williamson and Mustapha Dumbuya have all seen their problems clear up.

Williamson has had a slight calf problem but the former Sheffield United man has been able to continue training.

Dumbuya picked up a knee injury at Coventry but was in training with the rest of his team-mates yesterday at Eastleigh.

Gabor Gyepes missed out at the Ricoh Arena after coming off with heart palpitations against Leyton Orient.

The Hungarian was seen by a doctor, however, and has not suffered any lasting problems following the incident.

Pompey physio Steve Allen was pleased to see the squad with a clean bill of health.

He said: ‘Everyone is fit, well and training.

‘Lee Williamson had a bit of a calf problem but has been able to train.

‘He did get a kick where it hurts yesterday – but he’ll live!

‘Muzzy’s knee was a little bit swollen after Coventry but is okay.

‘Gabor’s heart was racing against Leyton Orient and he was feeling palpitations.

‘The doc saw him the following day and his heart-rate had returned to normal.

‘It could have been the tail-end of a virus.’

Ricardo Rocha has been training with the rest of the first team after making two appearances following his return to the club.

Allen said: ‘Obviously the ideal scenario would have been for him to have a pre-season, but Ric’s fitness is at a good level.

‘So he has been joining in training with everyone else as normal.’
