Pompey keeper frustrated by Blades setback

Mikkel Andersen rued defeat at Sheffield United despite being a virtual spectator.

The keeper felt he was barely tested against the unbeaten League One high-fliers at Bramall Lane.

But Pompey’s long search for a win at the home of the Blades – stretching back to 1955 – continued despite having the better of the play.

Andersen was called upon to make a fine save from Nick Blackman inside the first minute of the game.

Aside from that, he felt he wasn’t stretched at all before Blackman scored the decisive goal from the spot after Lubomir Michalik pulled down Chris Porter in the box with 25 minutes left.

Andersen admitted not getting a return from the game was hard to take.

He said: ‘It’s a tough place to come and a good stadium.

‘But we played well and deserved something from the game, so there’s mixed emotions that we played well but lost.

‘We have some good players, so we should be looking to win every game.

‘Every time we step on the pitch we want to win games and there’s the belief here we can do that.

‘I had a save to make after 20 seconds but, other than that, I didn’t have a lot to do.

‘I didn’t really touch the ball apart from that, so it’s frustrating.

‘It’s frustrating that we’ve not come away from anything.’
