Pompey players and staff in new wage bill blow

Pompey players and staff have been told they will not be receiving their January wages tomorrow.

The club tonight informed them the Blues have yet to receive a required validation order from the courts.

That means the club’s bank account remains frozen as a result of the winding-up order issued last month

As a result, players and staff salaries initially due last Tuesday have still to be paid.

Club chief executive David Lampitt and administrator of Popmey’s parent company CSI were not available to comment on whether there will be any knock-on effect on Pompey’s ability to stage Saturday’s home match against Hull.
