Pompey Reserves pocket Premier point at Norwich

Pompey Reserves earned a share of the spoils from their Premier League Cup trip to Carrow Road tonight - drawing 0-0 with Norwich City under-23s.

In what proved to be a competitive fixture, a youthful Blues side – with a strong homegrown feel to it – impressed against testing opposition.

Indeed, on a proud night for the club, nine of Pompey’s starting XI featured past or present members of the Blues’ Academy set-up.

Defensive duo Adam Buxton and Dominic Hyam, both summer signings of first-team boss Paul Cook, completed the line-up.

And far from being overawed by the occasion the Blues went toe to toe with their hosts, emerging with a clean sheet and point from their first group stage fixture of the competition.
