Who is he?

The South Oxfordshire-based referee has been an official for over 12 years, but after one season in the National League he was fast-tracked into the EFL this season.

During his rise up the ranks, he has been involved in FA Vase semi-finals, FA Trophy quarter-finals and was the fourth official in the FA Youth Cup Final second leg between Chelsea and Manchester United.

He has taken charge of 22 Football League games this term, but has never taken charge of a Premier League Match.

What is his record?

In all senior games over the past two seasons, Busby has handed out 149 yellow cards over 45 games. This works out at just over three per game.

In this time, he has also handed out ten red cards with six of those being straight reds. His last sending was Sutton United defender Dean Beckwith in their 6-0 home defeat against Dover on November 29.

Has he refereed Pompey before?

No, Busby has never refereed Pompey before. He did, however, take charge of Crewe’s 5-1 away defeat to Wycombe on September 27.
