Christian Burgess was suspended for Saturday's win at MK Dons

Burgess missed out at MK Dons on Saturday as he served a one-game ban for his red card against Doncaster.

He will slot into the back four alongside Matt Clarke, after Oli Hawkins operated as a makeshift defender.

Jackett has to decide which two to pick from Connor Ronan, Conor Chaplin, Brett Pitman and Hawkins as his attacking options.

Blackburn welcome Darragh Lenihan back into their squad for the visit to Fratton Park.

The Irish defender hasn’t featured since picking up a metatarsal injury on the opening day of the season.

Midfielder Ben Gladwin and forward Marcus Antonsson are also in contention.

The game, however, is expected to come too soon for the experienced Peter Whittingham, who has been suffering with a calf strain since the end of 2017.
