Andy Awford fumed at the set-piece frailty which cost Pompey at Morecambe.
Alex Kenyon grabbed two goals from corners as the Blues fell to a bleak 3-1 loss at the Globe Arena today.
That continued Pompey’s woeful record on the road this season.
It was another depressing chapter for Andy Awford’s side with just two Football League sides possessing worse away records.
And Awford was angered by his defence falling asleep at the back allowing Kenyon to benefit.
He said: ‘To concede two goals from two set pieces is disappointing.
‘We’ve been pretty good at doing that this season, but today we’ve let ourselves down.
‘The first one should be cleared up the pitch.
‘The second one is the second bite of the cherry.
‘A lot of goals are scored from set pieces and today it’s ended up costing us.’
Meanwhile, Pompey have confirmed that defender Josh Passley has been taken to hospital after he was knocked unconscious following a collision with a Morecambe player in the second half.
