Andy Awford praised Pompey’s tempo as they set a powerful pace in victory over Luton today.

The Blues picked up a 2-0 win over the Hatters to end a run of three games without victory.

Pompey collected their sixth clean sheet from 10 games with the three points.

Awford was pleased with the attitude of his players from the outset.

He said: ‘Tempo was a big word. I used that before the game.

‘That was lacking in the Accrington game last weekend, but we showed that from the beginning today.

‘We were organised as a team and defended well as a unit.

‘Now we have to build on this and go again on Tuesday night against Cheltenham.’
