Richie Barker felt his Pompey side wasted an entire half of football in their dreadful home defeat to Torquay.
While fans were rather more angry and voiced their frustrations at the final whistle, Barker kept his cool and labelled the performance ‘disappointing’ as the Blues threw away a glorious chance to put some daylight between themselves and the relegation zone.
And the Blues boss felt his men failed to build on their win at Wycombe in midweek, even though they searched hard for an equaliser in the closing stages.
Barker said: ‘It was disappointing.
‘It was a game of two halves and I was certainly more pleased with what we did in the second half.
‘We wasted 45 minutes in the first half and we weren’t at the races, which was disappointing.
‘It was a disappointing end to a good week.
‘We’ve turned what could have been an excellent week into an average week.
‘We said we wanted to make it a difficult place to come. Unfortunately, we haven’t done that today.
‘But for the last half an hour, I bet Torquay thought it was a difficult place to be. We didn’t do enough.’
