Knight: Well-deserved Pompey win at Fleetwood

Have your say

It was a heavyweight battle between Pompey past and present.

But former Blues favourite Darren Moore came out on top against Aaron Mokoena at the Football League Awards.

Both men were nominated for the PFA Player in the Community gong at the ceremony in London on Sunday night,

It was Moore, nicknamed ‘Bruno’ while at Fratton Park, who was given the nod in front of the Blues captain and Scunthorpe’s Michael Raynes.

Mokoena was short-listed for his outstanding efforts in the community as well as his work with his foundation.

Meanwhile, Joel Ward will be the guest of Pompey Supporters’ Trust at their open meeting on Thursday night.

And the emerging young talent could be joined by Ricardo Rocha at a question-and-answer session for both members and non-members.

The meeting will take place at the Rifle Club on Goldsmith Avenue, Fratton from 7pm.

Non-members will also have the chance to sign up to the Trust, as well as existing members completing their renewals.
