Michael Bryan’s Pompey trial has ended early.

The former Watford winger started training with the Blues last week and had been expected to feature in tonight’s friendly against the Hawks (7.45pm).

But Guy Whittingham pulled the plug on his trial and the 23-year-old Bryan has now left the club.

Ryan Bird, however, still remains and will line-up against Lee Bradbury’s men in Pompey’s maiden pre-season fixture.

The towering striker has been a prolific scorer with non-league Burnham in the Calor League premier division and is looking to break into the professional game.

Bird is one of four triallists pencilled in to feature against the Hawks at Westleigh Park tonight.

Shaun Cooper has been training with the club since the end of last week and he will be involved.

Former Stevenage defender Bondz N’Gala and midfielder Arnaud Mendy will also feature.

N’Gala made 28 appearances for the League One outfit last season but is now a free agent.

Mendy spent last season at Luton and has previously played for Derby and Macclesfield.

Herold Goulon, however, is now not joining Pompey for a trial.

The former Blackburn midfielder instead joined Polish top-flight side Zawisza Bydgoszcz at the end of last week.

Of those contracted to the Blues, all are expected to featured at the Hawks tonight.

That will include the unveiling of French midfielder Romain Padovani for his first competitive game in England.

He is one of eight new signings – the others being Joe Devera, John Sullivan, Tom Craddock, Sonny Bradley, Danny East, Andy Barcham and Ricky Holmes.
