Steve Claridge surveyed Harry Redknapp I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here and admitted: I can’t imagine him eating bugs or testicles.
The former Pompey boss enters the Australian jungle on the ITV show on Sunday.
Claridge, who played under Redknapp at AFC Bournemouth, is excited to see his former boss in the jungle.
But the Fratton Park hall-of-famer is unsure how the 71-year-old will fare if he’s forced to complete a Bushtucker Trial.
Speaking at today’s Checkatrade Trophy second-round draw, Claridge said: ‘He’s either going to be absolutely brilliant or absolutely knackered and think ‘what am I doing here, get me out of here!”
‘I have no idea what he’s like with creepy crawlies.
‘I never had the guts to put a spider down his back or anything like that.
‘I can’t imagine someone who’s used to the good life like he is eating bugs, testicles and whatever you have to do in there! It’ll be interesting.
‘It wasn’t a shock when I found out – he’s probably up for anything now that he’s retired.
‘He’s not going to be a manager any more. He’s got to live his life.
‘For someone who has lived the life he has led, you've got to keep that excitement going.
‘This will be something that he can tell the grandkids about.
‘It’ll be taken as it should be. It will be a laugh, a joke and a bit of a laugh.
‘He does a lot for charity and he is a character.
‘Good luck to him – it is all going to be good fun.’
