Paul Cook believes Pompey earned their win at Stevenage.
The Blues picked up a 2-0 success at the Lamex Stadium with goals from Marc McNulty and Kal Naismith.
Cook felt the margin of victory could have been greater as they created more chances late in the game.
But the Pompey boss was most pleased that the performance came with the traits he’s looking for from his side.
Cook said: ‘That was more like the way we like the game to be played.
‘It’s more like the way we want to play.
‘We are trying earn our wins and I thought we did that.
‘I wasn’t comfortable with the way we played at Exeter the other night.
‘Credit to Stevenage because they took the fight to us, but there looked like there was goals in us.
‘We could have opened them up and scored more – not that we probably deserved to win by more.’
