Steve Cotterill has jetted to Thailand to give Pompey’s pre-season plans the seal of approval.
The Blues boss is using part of the international break to check out the facilities on offer in Asia, after receiving an offer to gear up for the new campaign there.
That is now his first choice but Cotterill wants to ensure the set-up for his squad is up to scratch after a nightmare build-up to this season in North America.
Pompey were left playing catch-up after being handed a ridiculous schedule which saw them jet all over the United States and Canada last summer.
Cotterill already has an offer to return to the east coast of America.
Austria is another possibility.
The Blues boss has based his sides there in the past after returning from their summer breaks.
But if what’s on offer in south-east Asia is up to Cotterill’s standard, Pompey will be heading there to focus their attentions on next season.
