Steve Cotterill has praised Ricardo Rocha as his resurgence continues.
The former Portugal international was yet again outstanding during Saturday’s goalless draw with Middlesbrough.
It maintains his sparkling form since returning to the side last month at Doncaster.
Recalled in place of Aaron Mokoena, who was away getting a work permit, Rocha has gone on to put his injury and fitness concerns behind him.
That has also signalled seven clean sheets in eight matches.
And Cotterill is delighted with the former Spurs man’s impact.
He said: ‘I think Ricardo has played very well for a few weeks now, definitely.
‘There has been no problem there for Ricardo, I am really pleased for him. He’s got back into the team and I think he’s playing well.
‘They’ve done well back there him and Greg.
‘Maybe it has been the case that the amount of games played recently has helped them gel quicker.
‘It was only a month or so ago that we had to put that back four together.
‘Normally, when you get a back four together at any normal football club you play pre-season with them.
‘Not only didn’t we play them together in pre-season – we didn’t even have any defenders.’
