Steve Cotterill felt his side could have grabbed their second straight win after being held to a 0-0 draw at Bristol City.
The Blues boss saw his men create two or three excellent chances after the break, following a largely uneventful first half when the home side just edged the proceedings.
But Pompey stepped things up after the interval and could have gone on to claim the win with Luke Varney, Liam Lawrence and Dave Kitson all going close to finding the winner.
Cotterill said: ‘Bristol City were probably the better side in the first half and just shaded it but I thought we shaded it in the second half.
‘But we certainly had the better chances - their keeper made two or three very good saves.
‘It’s pleasing to get two clean sheets on the bounce. It would have been nice to get three points but Bristol City is a tough place to come and we have to be happy with a point.
‘We’ve had a tough week with three very hard games and maybe it looked like that in the first half.
‘But we were the better team after the break. We might have nicked it and maybe it’s a bit of a lost opportunity in that respect.’
