Peter Crouch has won the battle to claim Pompey's third Goodison Park goal.
The club-record signing was credited with the goal after the Blues asked the Premier League to adjudicate.
Debate had been raging since Saturday's clash after Jermain Defoe's chip hit the bar and bounced on the line before Crouch followed up to head home.
Video replays later proved the ball had in fact crossed the line and the goal was Defoe's.
However, at the time both referee Mark Halsey and his linesmen failed to catch a clear view and the ball was officially still in play when Crouch netted.
According to Premier League rules, video evidence is not allowed to judge goals.
Instead, it is up to match officials at the time to judge whether a ball has crossed the line.
