Having primarily operated in a left-wing role for Kenny Jackett's side, Curtis has had Brown giving him guidance down the flank from defence.

The 22-year-old saluted the former Bristol Rovers left-back for helping him adapt during the early stages of his League One career.

Curtis said: '˜Browny is one of my best pals in the team '“ he's my partner in crime.

'˜He looks after me a lot and talks to me, although we do have a little nibble once in a while!

'˜The link-up play is amazing between the two of us and we work well together.

'˜He's been around the leagues a long time. It's good to have an experienced left-back in behind to talk and guide you because I'm still young and it's my first season in League One.

'˜Browny has been a great mate to me.

'˜But I told him not to be afraid to give me a telling off and to get on my back when it's needed. Everyone knows that already.'
