THE next year should be Pompey’s year, high court wranglings notwithstanding.
That’s the view of the Pompey Supporters’ Trust, which is hoping to become the club’s majority owner this year and transform Pompey into the biggest community-owned club in the UK.
The only hurdle is a high court case between the club’s administrators and its former owners, Portpin, over how much Fratton Park is worth.
The trust’s spokesman, Colin Farmery, said: ‘We are confident that Pompey will be in better shape under community ownership.
‘Next year will certainly be a better year than the past two or three have been for the club.
‘Fans will also be certain that we will be trying to put money in to the club, rather than trying to take it out.
‘This is the chance for fans to take control of the club and bring it back to success.’
