Gaffer: What a sour man Plymouth boss is after loss to Portsmouth

So much for tight matches against Plymouth?

This is not the Plymouth of old, they seem to have lost a lot of their players.

We arrived back in League One together, but where we have gone and where they have is drastic.

They are deep in relegation trouble.

We were the better side, but went into our shell a little after breaking the deadlock '“ and Plymouth finished strongly in the last seven or eight minutes of the first half.

But they seemed to fizzle out in the second half, we got the goals and took control.

It was a well-deserved win for us and by a margin you normally wouldn't expect in these games.

What a wealth of attacking options Pompey have

This is the best squad we've had for a long time, last term we didn't have the depth.

Where's Joe Mason going to fit in? What about Andre Green and David Wheeler? Kenny Jackett has a few headaches to deal with.

As for Brett Pitman, he has pretty much taken Conor Chaplin's role as an impact sub, just stick him on and if it breaks he'll take a chance.

I thought our aim was the play-offs, now it's automatic promotion.

 Which Pompey players impressed you?

It's a hard to pick a man of the match between Ronan Curtis and Gareth Evans, but I have to go with the former.

Curtis is very sure of himself, confidence isn't an issue, he thrives off the energy and passion of the supporters and fits straight in.

He also isn't frightened by reputation and will shout at Brett Pitman. He'll definitely start to get a bit of interest if he keeps this up.

Interesting comments from Derek Adams afterwards, as ever?

He's a very sour man, I wouldn't like him as our manager, couldn't think anyone worse.

Some people are not good losers. Although if Paul Cook talked in interviews the way Kenny Jackett does the fans would have taken to him more.

When I saw Adams' comments I just thought what an idiot. I suppose people are what they are.
