Pompey have announced the appointment of Martin Hinshelwood as chief scout.

As revealed by The News last week, the 60-year-old has quit Crawley from the same position to make the switch to Fratton Park.

For Hinshelwood it would be a return to the Blues, having previously managed both the youth and reserve teams before leaving in 1998.

The switch will also reunite him with Richie Barker, Steve Coppell and Anthony Williams, following their time working at the Reds together.
