I can't get enough of Portsmouth's lights nightsÂ

Kenny Jackett probably won't be so keen on the idea, but I wouldn't mind if Pompey were to draw at Rochdale in the FA Cup tomorrow afternoon.

Of course, I'd rather the Blues got the job done with a win but I'd not say no to a replay. Because I'm coming to the conclusion that I enjoy night games at Fratton Park more than Saturday afternoon affairs.

Last Tuesday was our second successive home league game under the lights, and although the match was no classic, I enjoyed it tremendously.

There's something about approaching the city and then the ground and seeing the lights shining out.

Luckily I make my way there from the north (well, the M27) so the two pylons I can see are the two that are still in operation.

I do worry about the day the club decide to stop using the remaining two working columns. If it happens I shall lead the protests in the hope that a big campaign can prevent a little piece of Fratton magic dying.

Anyway, back to the point (yes there is one), and Fratton under floodlights feels like a completely different ground to the one we experience in daylight.

The walk up the alleyway from Clarkes Road to Tesco (it was more like a lake than a lane on this occasion), the hanging around in Frogmore Road, the walk round the ground, the hustle and bustle underneath the North Stand'¦Â they all seem more atmospheric when it's dark.

So 0-0, or 4-4 or 5-5 for that matter, would do me nicely at Spotland this afternoon. It would give us another night out down the Park for the replay, and would mean a further one '“ for the Charlton game which I assume would have to be rearranged again '“ would await.

I just hope the electricity bill isn't so big we have to sell Ronan Curtis to Barcelona!
