David Nugent is refusing to shave while he goes about powering his team up the table.
Nugent continued his outstanding goalscoring record against Ipswich on Saturday – grabbing his seventh goal in eight games against the Tractor Boys.
He has now scored in each of his five appearances at Portman Road, including a strike for England under-21s in 2006.
The-25-year-old has his sights set on continuing that run against Scunthorpe tomorrow.
And he will hoping his growing set of whiskers remains firmly in place with another strike against the Iron.
Nugent said: ‘I seem to score every time I set foot on the pitch at Ipswich.
‘I’m surprised they haven’t signed me – I’d have a lot of goals by now!
‘I think they take it personally when I score against them.
‘They gave me a little bit of stick but that is something I thrive on.
‘They seemed annoyed at the end but I thought we outran them and outpassed them.
‘I enjoyed it. It was nice to score and give them a bit of stick back!
‘The ref told me to calm down a bit. I gave him a smile and a pat on his back and he was okay.
‘I’m not shaving at the moment either.
‘I’m scoring goals, so I’m not shaving it off.
‘I might give it a little trim but I’m not shaving it all the time I’m scoring.
‘It goes a bit ginger but I’ve got my dad to blame for that, he’s a ginger!’
