May was a creative force throughout the match and she was pleased to help Pompey get back firing after some recent defeats.

Next they play Plymouth in the league at home on Sunday and confidence will be boosted.

She said: '˜I really enjoyed being out there on the pitch and I was happy to contribute with a few assists.

'˜It was a solid team performance and now our focus turns to Plymouth.'

James opened the scoring against Poole and Perkins soon made it 2-0.

May's driving run teed up Perkins to get the third goal and then Currie got her first goal of the season from a free-kick.

That made it 4-0 at the break to the Blues.

Three minutes into the second half Panting scored and then May fed Geer who finished well for 6-0.

The impressive May was fouled in the box and Perkins converted the penalty to complete her hat-trick.
