Seven players from Pompey Ladies will switch to the sand as they eye international success with England Ladies beach soccer team.

Rhia Cox, Sadie Blakely, Molly Clark, Sarah Kempson, Gemma Hillier, Charley Wilson and Lucy Quinn will all play for the national side in Portugal.

Former Pompey midfielder Leeta Rutherford is also in the squad for the three-way international tournament.

England fly out tomorrow and will tackle Switzerland on Wednesday, before going up against Portugal on Thursday.

Chichester City player Kally Ambler and Hollie Wride, who is joining Super League side Watford, complete the squad.

Emma Alexandre and Jade Widdowson were selected but could not make the trip.

Pompey player Carla Perkins joined up for training at the beach volleyball courts in Southsea on Friday but is not part of the squad going to Portugal.

England head coach Perry Northeast, who is also joint boss of Pompey Ladies, will be assisted by Chichester coach Liam Greenfield and strength-and-conditioning trainer Jason Campbell.
