New signing Jayden Stockley welcomed the competition for places in Pompey’s forward line and insisted: I can’t wait to get started.
The 21-year-old joined the Blues this afternoon from Bournemouth, signing on loan until January.
The youngster, who has scored two goals in 22 Cherries appearances, joins Matt Tubbs, Conor Chaplin and Adam McGurk competing for striking spots.
Speaking to Pompey’s official website, he said: ‘I’ve seen some very high-calibre signings (made by Pompey this summer) and every position there’s going to be a lot of competition for.
‘I think that’s what you need in a successful side and I’m here now just to give it my all and contribute something to this already very good team.
‘The club, the ambitions this season, and definitely the manager’s style of play I have looked at and thought I can contribute something to.
‘I have come here full of high expectations and just want to get going now.’
