People maybe seem to take our away form for granted, but it was a great 2-1 victoryÂ at Scunthorpe.Â

We held on in the end after dominating and should have been 3-0 up instead of conceding.

A goal would have put the mockers on them but Jack Whatmough and Matt Clarke's defending, flanked by Lee Brown and Nathan Thompson, was really solidÂ '“ especially with Craig MacGillivray in behind them.

Pompey seem to be really capable of holding onto these leads. We'd like to be out of sight but the boys have displayed great resilience and defensive qualities to maintain this unbelievable away record so far.

Heading into the Walsall game on Tuesday night, people were saying our home from isn't very good.

I'm thinking 'How can you be saying that about a side that isÂ top of the league?'

I do sort of get what peopleÂ say but the boys answered a lot of critics with that performance.

It was a thoroughly-professional, well-deserved win and the boys keep doing it '“Â you can't ask for any more than that.

We had opportunities to win by three or four goals but I'm not moaning. To win 2-0 is still a great victory for me.

Walsall came and had a bit of a go but never overly tested Craig in goal.Â

At the moment, things are looking good although we can't get carried away as there is a long way to go '“Â the players know that as well.

It's just about keeping that momentum going and grinding out results as we go.

I didn't realise Oli Hawkins, Ronan Curtis, Jamal Lowe and Gareth Evans are all on seven goals apiece.Â

It's good they're spread around because some people moaned that didn't happen enough last season as our style was played around Brett Pitman.

I'll decide who I think will finish as top scorer after Christmas! It's a tight one and, to be honest, I don't care as long as they keep scoring.

Meanwhile, Pompey travel to Rochdale in the FA Cup on Sunday and it's a big tie for both clubs.Â

I know some people are underwhelmed by it but for both teams it's a huge opportunity to play a money-spinning third-round game.
