Knight: Portsmouth wingers remind me of my old team-mates O'Callaghan and Hilaire

I think Pompey's victory over Plymouth was probably our best performance of the season so far.

I know some people have been saying that the Pilgrims are not very good but let's not take anything away from how well the boys played.

We dominated for about 90 per cent of the game. The passing and interplay was top notch and we did not allow them to play.

Plymouth had minor spells when they were on top but that's going to be the case in every match. 

Derek Adams never seems to disappoint.

The fact the Plymouth boss has had many-a run in with other managers speaks volumes.

It was a bit strange to come and clap their fans knowing he had a touchline ban.

But Pompey did their talking on the pitch and it was never a penalty when Craig MacGillivray collided with Freddie Ladapo in the first half.

The Pilgrims attacker was taken out slightly but had already had a shot which went wide.

We had players covering and he was never going to get to the ball. 

It was a coming together '“ nothing deliberate '“ then we go up the other end of the pitch, put together a free-flowing move and score a wonderful goal.

Fair play to Jamal Lowe '“ he got his head up and laid it off to Ronan Curtis.

They combined to score two great goals and are looking very good.

During pre-season, you could see there was something about Curtis. 

He didn't score in pre-season but got his first one at Blackpool and hasn't looked back. 

The biggest plaudit I can give the two wingers is they remind me of my old team-mates Kevin O'Callaghan and Vince Hilaire.

If they are anything like those two then we're going to have a good season. 

During the transfer window, Kenny Jackett went out knowing he needed to strengthen attacking wise and achieved that.

There is a lot of strength in depth to the squad and the only down side from Saturday was the injuries to Anton Walkes, Oli Hawkins and Jack Whatmough. 

We play Gillingham in the Checkatrade Trophy tonight and it is important to keep the momentum we've built going.
