Leam Richardson spoke of his delight after Pompey finally saw off Ipswich Town to progress in the FA Cup.
The Blues were an agonising two minutes away from winning at Portman Road 10 days ago.
Yet they made no mistake at Fratton Park tonight, with Gary Roberts and Marc McNulty netting in a 2-1 victory.
Paul Cook’s side fully deserved their triumph, dominating the contest throughout to book a fourth-round tie with Bournemouth.
And the Blues’ assistant boss lauded the display which inflicted an FA Cup upset on the Championship side.
Richardson said: ‘Going to Ipswich we were disappointed to take it to a replay.
‘Tonight we played against a good team, Ipswich are a top Championship side with a class manager so to get ourselves through was great credit to our lads.
‘It’s very pleasing for the all fans who turned up tonight, they were in full voice and it was great to give something back and we are into the fourth round.
‘The second goal was great quality from Gareth Evans and Sparky’s movement in the box was fantastic, that is why we brought him to the club.
‘He was disappointed he didn’t get a couple more but with movement and work ethic like that he will get his goals.
‘Now we’re looking forward to meeting Bournemouth.’
