Jackett: Pompey can bridge the gap

Have your say

Linvoy Primus will pull on a Pompey shirt once again next month.

The Blues legend is going to be back on the sacred Fratton Park turf in a special charity match.

The event on Tuesday, May 10 pitches a Pompey legends side against a Soccer AM XI.

Tickets are priced from £2 and will also be available to buy on the night.

All proceeds will go to Primus’ Faith & Football charity to support their excellent community and educational programmes in Portsmouth.

For Primus, it will be a first playing appearance at Fratton since his testimonial.

That was in July last year when Pompey beat Fulham 1-0.

The defender featured for 12 minutes before coming off to a standing ovation.

Now Primus will be back in action at Fratton Park – and he will be lining-up alongside plenty of other familiar Pompey faces.

Those who have confirmed their playing presence include Dejan Stefanovic, Darren Anderton, Steve Claridge, Paul Walsh, Lee Bradbury and Mark Chamberlain.

In addition, there will also be representatives from the Blues’ backroom in Ian Woan, Guy Whittingham, Andy Awford and Paul Hardyman.

They will be taking on a Soccer AM XI which is expected to feature presenter Max Rushden and a host of other recognisable faces from the popular Sky show.

The match is scheduled for a 7pm kick off.

Tickets are available to buy, cash only, from the Frogmore Road ticket office – priced at £5 for adults and £2 for under 16s.
