Pompey recall midfielder Bedford

Yassin Moutaouakil will return to the Pompey line-up against Bournemouth.

The right-back missed Saturday’s friendly defeat to Charlton with a slight groin problem.

However, he is back at Dean Court tonight (7.45pm) and will replace Danny East in defence.

Moutaouakil will be one of several changes to the side which suffered a 3-0 loss against the Addicks, as Pompey’s pre-season programme draws to a close.

Guy Whittingham is seeking to give 90-minute games to more of his first-team squad in the build-up to the start of the season.

In keeping with his rotation of the goalkeepers, Phil Smith will come in for John Sullivan, who played against Charlton.

Patrick Agyemang is set to start in attack after his substitute appearance, replacing David Connolly.

In addition, Tom Craddock is expected to be given another match to impress up front.

In midfield, Whittingham must decide whether Ricky Holmes replaces Jed Wallace on the right-hand side.

The lack of central-midfield options is likely to keep Johnny Ertl and Romain Padovani in the centre.

Meanwhile, Sonny Bradley and Joe Devera will be given another match to strike up their central-defensive partnership as August 3 approaches.
