Brian Murphy celebrated a clean sheet on his Pompey debut after inking a deal until January
The 32-year-old Irishman started in goal for Paul Cook’s side, displacing Paul Jones in a surprise move today.
Murphy was pleased with how he performed, although he admitted he had little do.
He said: ‘We have been talking about the deal this week and I am pleased that we got something agreed.
‘I want to come here to play football and show what I am capable of.
‘The aim is promotion, as everyone around the club has said.
‘You can see everything is in place to achieve that.
‘I was happy enough with how I did and to keep the clean sheet.
‘In truth, there was not a lot for me to do, though, with the lads performing so well.
‘It would have been nice to make a save or two but I am happy with the three points.’
