Pompey are going to be without Ronan Curtis for next two games.
The Blues’ new danger man will miss Tuesday’s Checkatrade Trophy meeting with Gillingham and Saturday’s League One visit of from Shrewsbury.
That’s after Curtis was called up for the Republic of Ireland under-21 side following a flying start to his career at Fratton Park.
The 22-year-old has grabbed five League One goals in six appearances since joining from Derry City in the summer.
Curtis is part of Noel King’s squad for matches in Kosovo on Friday and at home to Germany on Tuesday, September 11.
Pompey boss Kenny Jackett said: ‘He’s away with the under-21s now and we wish him all the best in those two games.’
