Bring back Christian Burgess!
That’s the message from The News’ readers to Pompey boss Paul Cook ahead of tomorrow’s League Two clash with Hartlepool.
Blues fans would like to see central-defender Burgess – an ever-present in the league this term – named in Cook’s line-up for the visit of Pools.
The 24-year-old was rested for the FA Cup win over Accrington last weekend, with Matt Clarke given the nod.
The News’ readers, however, would like to see Burgess continue his 100-per-cent record in the league with Clarke restored to the bench.
In goal, Brian Murphy (90.6 per cent) is preferred to youngster Alex Bass (9.4per cent).
At the back, familiar faces Ben Davies (99.1 per cent), Adam Webster (94.4 per cent) and Enda Stevens (94.4 per cent) were all selected alongside Burgess (87.9 per cent).
Clarke received 21.5-per-cent of votes.
In midfield, Danny Hollands (43 per cent), held off competition from Adam Barton (26.2 per cent), Nigel Atangana (20.6 per cent) and Ben Close (17.8 per cent) to partner skipper Michael Doyle (95.3 per cent) in the centre of the park.
While attacking-midfield trio Kyle Bennett (84.1 per cent), Adam McGurk (81.3 per cent) and Marc McNulty (72.9 per cent) got the nod, with Gareth Evans (43 per cent) the next in line for selection.
Up front, the returning Caolan Lavery (68.9 per cent) was the overwhelming selection in the lone striker’s role.
