Readers of The News want to see Matt Tubbs recalled to manager Paul Cook’s Pompey side for tomorrow’s game against Accrington.
Last season’s leading marksman was left out of the Blues’ line-up for the trip to Luton, for the first time this season.
That’s after Jayden Stockley was preferred by Cook in his favoured 4-2-3-1 line-up last weekend.
Tubbs, though, came off the bench to strike a last-gasp winner for the Blues and that has seen readers call for his return.
He was named in 60.1 per cent of teams, with Stockley – the only other option for the lone striker role – netting 39.9 per cent.
The News’ readers favoured a familiar backline with regular defenders Ben Davies (98.9 per cent), Christian Burgess (96.6 per cent), Matt Clarke (89 per cent) and Enda Stevens (95.4 per cent) selected in the back four.
Nigel Atangana (72.9 per cent) and Michael Doyle (93.9 per cent) remain the top two to fill the holding-midfield roles.
In Cook’s three-man attacking midfield, readers have also sought familiar faces with regular starters Gary Roberts (98.5 per cent), Kyle Bennett (84.8 per cent) and Gareth Evans (70.3 per cent) given the nod.
Youngster Conor Chaplin was their closest challenger – featuring in 33.8 per cent of teams.
Finally, Brian Murphy remains the favourite to remain in goal, earning 79 per cent of the vote.
