Matt Tubbs is the man readers of The News want to see included in manager Paul Cook’s side for tomorrow’s game against Yeovil.
Last season’s leading goalscorer in League Two has lost his place in Pompey’s line-up in recent times, with Adam McGurk and Jayden Stockley both preferred in the lone striker’s role.
But with McGurk out injured, and Stockley failing to impress for the Blues in the midweek defeat to Exeter, The News’ readers would like to see Tubbs return.
The former AFC Wimbledon striker received 64.6 per cent of votes, with Stockley named in 35.4 per cent of teams.
No suprises in between the sticks or at the back as Wolves loanee Aaron McCarey (92.3 per cent) gets the nod ahead of young understudy Alex Bass (7.7 per cent) to don the gloves.
In defence, regular back four Ben Davies (97.8 per cent), Christian Burgess (97.2 per cent), Matt Clarke (81.2 per cent) and Enda Stevens (92.8 per cent) are selected.
Skipper Michael Doyle (90.1 per cent) is backed for a return in one of two holding midfield spots – alongside Adam Barton (63.5 per cent).
Gareth Evans (63 per cent), Kyle Bennett (82.9 per cent) and Gary Roberts (96.1 per cent) are the preferred attacking midfield trio.
