Pompey’s stuttering home form reared its head again as they ground out a dull 0-0 draw with AFC Wimbledon.
The Blues struggled to find any kind of real attacking fluency throughout the 90 minutes with Dons keeper Ben Wilson barely tested.
For those arguing that a switch in formation would lead to more chances from Pompey, they got their wish in formation at least as Paul Cook opted for a 4-4-2 system.
But with loan pairing Marc McNulty and Caolan Lavery forging a new partnership, only McNulty got a sight of goal in the 90 minutes.
After shrugging off the former Blues skipper Paul Robinson, McNulty cut inside and saw his fierce shot deflected over.
It was the closest either side came to breaking the deadlock in an instantly forgettable game.
