Michael Appleton has boosted his playing ranks further with the loan signings of four new players.

Fresh from bringing in 10 players on monthly contracts on Thursday and Friday, the Blues boss swooped to bring in goalkeeper Mikkel Andersen (Reading), midfielder Conor Clifford (Chelsea), and defenders Paul Connolly (Leeds) and Kevin Long (Burnley) on one-month loan deals.

All four are in contetnion to feature in today’s League One opener against Bournemouth at Fratton Park.

Liam Walker, however, won’t play a part having failed to get international clearance on time.
