Pompey Academy face the exciting prospect of hosting Manchester City under the lights at Fratton Park – if they beat Bristol Rovers in the FA Youth Cup second round on Tuesday night (7pm).
It is a plum third-round draw for the Blues, who could expect a sizeable crowd should they win through to entertain the 2015 FA Youth Cup runners-up next month.
City lost 5-2 to Chelsea in 2014-15’s two-legged final with Kelechi Iheanacho, who has since gone on to star for the Sky Blues’ first-team this season, on target.
Pompey, meanwhile, exited in the third round of the competition following a narrow 1-0 defeat to Bolton.
The date for which the tie will be played has yet to be announced by the FA.
