Pompey are looking to make their third signing of the day with a deal for Daniel Bogdanovic.
However, Kieran Djilali has left the club by mutual consent.
Striker Bogdanovic, who has played for the likes of Barnsley, Sheffield United and Blackpool, is a free agent but will require international clearance, having recently played in Malta.
The 32-year-old will follow Johnny Ertl and Darel Russell into Fratton Park, with the trio hoping to be available for Saturday’s visit of Oldham.
Midfielder Djilali penned a one-month deal with the Blues after joining on trial but made his exit this morning.
