Striker Conor Chaplin scored twice as Pompey’s reserves progressed in the Premier League Cup last night.
The popular front man netted a goal in each half as the Blues defeated Southend 2-1 at Westleigh Park.
Chaplin has yet to start a game for Paul Cook’s first team this season and was left out of the match-day squad for last week’s loss at Morecambe.
He came on as a second-half sub in Saturday’s win against Colchester, claiming an assist in Gary Roberts’ second goal in the 2-0 victory.
But do you think the Pompey Academy graduate deserves a starting role against Exeter this weekend?
